Skills to sea

Kayak mud panweb

Skills to Sea took place on the Helford River, near Falmouth in Cornwall in April 2011

It covered a range of activities over 5 days for people interested in learning, developing and sharing practical skills and knowledge connected with marine environments – practical session on small boat handling (kayaks and dinghies), coastal food foraging, practical marine biology, wild swimming, study trip to Falmouth National Maritime Museum and traditional wooden boat builder, practice with traditional boatbuilding techniques and tools, basic sea survival for small craft, understanding nautical charts and basic navigation, understanding tides, contributing to a booklet recording our learning from the Learner Workshop.

This project was a Grundtvig Learner Workshop funded with support from the European Commission.
